About Us
A Passion for Beauty. A Commitment to Quality.
At Patagonia Sun, our story begins in 2008, when architect and designer Mia Engler took an unexpected turn into the world of flowers. What started as a serendipitous encounter quickly grew into a deep passion for peonies and a desire to share their beauty with the world.
In 2019, Mia crossed paths with Bernardita Montes, a talented florist and flower shop owner. Their shared love for floral design and commitment to excellence sparked a partnership that soon evolved into a company. Joined by two more creative and driven women, our team became a force of female entrepreneurship rooted in purpose, passion, and a lot of hard work.
Since then, we've immersed ourselves in the peony world. We've studied it, lived it, and learned from every season its highs, lows, and all the unpredictability in between. Because here's the truth: flowers are breathtaking… until they’re not. A single delay, a small misstep, and they can turn literally rotten. We understand that better than anyone.
That’s why we work tirelessly all year round with one mission:
To deliver only the most beautiful peonies fresh, vibrant, and exactly as promised.
We know the growers, because we are growers. We understand the needs of our buyers, because we listen closely. And we know that late flowers or bad flowers aren’t just a disappointment they’re a disaster.
So we don’t take chances.
We work hand in hand with our growers to ensure that only top quality blooms leave the farm. No “maybes.” Then we carefully oversee every step of the export process to preserve that quality from field to final delivery. It’s not always easy but it’s always worth it.
Because at Patagonia Sun, we’re not just in the flower business.
We’re in the business of trust, care, and beauty that lasts.
To bring life, beauty and color, touched by the magic of Patagonia, to people all over the world through our peonies.
To create and maintain supply chains which benefit all of the people involved, from farm worker to household.
